22 member delegation comprising notables from FATA calls on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Peshawar: A 22 member delegation comprising notables from FATA called on the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar here at Governor’s House on Wednesday. Members of the delegation discussed with the Governor certain issues and problems of the people of FATA and presented their proposals to streamline the developmental and other people-oriented welfare activities.
The Governor listened to their viewpoint and suggestions and assured that these would be taken into consideration while formulating necessary strategies and action plans for tribal areas. The Governor said that to resolve the people’s problems, remove their grievances and improve the socio-economic condition of FATA people was one of the govt.’s priorities in FATA. However he added that peace was the prerequisite for development in FATA and collective efforts were needed to maintain it.
On a point the Governor said that FATA Secretariat and its subordinate departments were being activated and organized to solve the people’s problems and pave the way for smooth and accelerated development process. The Governor pointed towards the record development outlay for FATA, saying it envisaged the govt.’s interest in the development of tribal areas. He said that he would personally monitor the development process during visits to tribal areas besides holding periodical review meetings to ensure that development funds are used judiciously, timely and rightly.
Members of the delegation including Malik Waris Khan Afridi, Mirza Mohammad Jehadi, Mohammad Khan, Changez Khan, Haji Manan, Hamid Hussain Turi, Malik Afzal, Aurangzeb Inqilabi, Nawaz Khan Afridi, Khan Bahadar, Dr. Farooq Afzal, Dr. Riaz Hussain Shah and others thanked the Governor for his positive response towards the delegation’s demands and suggestions and resolved to fully cooperate in his endeavours for peace and development in FATA. Senator Sardar Ali Khan also accompanied the delegation.
