Karachi: Twenty-fourth death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet and writer Sehba Lakhnavi is being observed today. Sehba Lakhnavi, whose real name was Syed Sharaft Ali, was born on 25th December 1919 in Bhopal state.
According to Radio Pakistan, after the establishment of Pakistan, Sehba Lakhnavi settled in Karachi and started Afkar magazine in 1951. This publication was notable for its uninterrupted run of 57 years. Sehba Lakhnavi's literary works include poetry collections such as Mah Paray and Zir Asman. His contributions to prose are also significant, with books like Meray Khwabon ki Sarzameen, Iqbal Aur Bhopal, Majaz Aik Ahang, Armaghan e Majnu, Rais Amrohavi Fun O Shaksiat, and Manto Aik Kitab.
Sehba Lakhnavi passed away in Karachi on this day in 2002.
