25 Newly Elected Members of KP Assembly Take Oath in Peshawar

Peshawar: Twenty-five newly elected members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on reserved seats took the oath of their offices in Peshawar.

According to Radio Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath. Among those taking the oath were seven women members from JUI-F, seven women members from PML-N, and four members from PPP, all of whom filled seats reserved for women in the assembly.

Khadija Sardar and Shahida Waheed of ANP, along with Nadia Sher, also took the oath against seats reserved for women in the assembly. The oath-taking ceremony was made possible after the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court nominated Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to oversee the proceedings.

This nomination was in response to a request by the Election Commission of Pakistan, in accordance with Article 255(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan. A formal notification from the High Court Registrar instructed that the ceremony should be conducted promptly, adhering to the constitutional and legal requirements.
