274 Combatants of Afghan Taliban Killed So Far: DG ISPR

Rawalpindi: Pakistan armed forces, under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, continue to give an effective, immediate, and brutal response to Afghan Taliban's unprovoked aggression on the Pak-Afghan border.

According to Radio Pakistan, Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry briefed the media in Rawalpindi, revealing that Pakistan had carefully targeted training camps of Fitna al-Khawarij, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), based on intelligence reports. The operations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border occurred on the 21st and 22nd of the month. The Afghan Taliban regime, described as the master proxy of terrorist groups, initiated unprovoked attacks in 15 sectors across 53 locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, involving quadcopters and heavy weaponry.

Chaudhry reported that Pakistan's response was robust, successfully repelling the attacks and neutralizing enemy drones. Under the Prime Minister's directives, Operation Ghazab lil-Haq has resulted in the deaths of 274 Afghan Taliban combatants and injuries to over 400 others. Additionally, 73 enemy posts were destroyed, and 18 captured, alongside the destruction of 115 tanks and armored vehicles. Precision aerial strikes targeted 22 locations in Afghanistan, focusing on military installations to avoid civilian casualties.

The Director General further noted that fleeing Afghan Taliban forces left behind their dead, who were preserved according to Geneva protocols. He acknowledged the sacrifice of 12 Pakistani soldiers who were martyred, with 27 injured and one missing.

Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan demands the Afghan Taliban choose between supporting Pakistan or terrorist organizations like TTP, BLA, Daish, and Al-Qaida. Pakistan's allegiance remains clear, prioritizing national sovereignty above all.

Addressing inquiries, Chaudhry accused Indian sponsorship of all terrorism incidents in Pakistan, asserting the armed forces' vigilance across all borders. He highlighted the Afghan Taliban's failure to honor commitments of the Doha Accord, including establishing an inclusive government and preventing Afghanistan's use for terrorism, underscoring Pakistan's defensive stance in its operations.

The nation, according to Chaudhry, stands united against terrorism, with political consensus on denying any space to such threats in Pakistan. Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, under the Prime Minister's guidance, continues to achieve its objectives.
