According to Radio Pakistan, Taufiq Riffat's first poetry collection was titled "Arrival Of The Monsoon." He was also noted for his translations of the poetry of Baba Bulley Shah and Qadir Yar into English, bridging cultural and linguistic gaps through his work. In recognition of his literary contributions, the Pakistan Academy of Letters awarded him the Prime Minister's Literary Award in 1998 for his poetry collection "A Selection." Riffat passed away on this day in 1998, leaving behind a rich tapestry of literary works that continue to be celebrated and studied. His ability to translate complex emotions and cultural nuances into his poetry has cemented his place in the annals of literary history.
