Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said the importance of education was an admitted fact and no one could deny the basic role of private sector in this important sector. He said that those private educational institutions which were actively engaged in spreading/promotion of quality education would be fully patronized and supported.

This he said while talking to a delegation of Provincial Education Forum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa led by its General Secretary Changez at Peshawar on Friday. Secretary Information Azmat Hanif Orakzai was also present on this occasion. Members of the delegation apprising the minister of their problems and demands also informed of their reservation over the proposed Educational Bill on private educational institutions.

They demanded that the proposed bill might be made acceptable to all the stakeholders and they in this connection gave some proposals and suggestions. They also demanded due representation in the educational regulatory authority.

The Minister while welcoming the proposals of the members of the delegation assured that the government would remove their reservations over the proposed bill on priority basis and practical steps would be taken for redressal of their genuine problems. He further assured that the government would review the proposed bill and their viable and useful suggestions and proposals would also be accommodated accordingly. He added that there were no bad intensions behind introduction of the said bill and its sole aim was the settlement of the quality of education.

The Information Minister continued that the provincial government want to decorate the new generation with the ornament of quality education and due services of dedicated people in this regard would be encouraged. He furthered, unfortunately such elements entered into this noble profession who have nothing to do with the education but their only aim was the earning of money, adding that such elements must be discouraged by all and sundry.

The Minister called upon the heads of private education institutions to take into consideration the problems of the parents who were the main stakeholders and spending their hard earning money on their children.
