Karachi: Ships carrying containers, crude oil and talc powder are due to reach at the outer anchorage on Tuesday. Ten ships, Olivia, Hyundai Highness, MOL Bravery and Parmis with containers, tankers Scirocco, Hellespont Crusader and Bhairavi; bulk ships UBS Chilli and Spar Lupus; and general cargo carrier Hua Qaing were berthed during the last 48 hours at Karachi Port after departure of a dozen ships.
The departing ships led by Maistrus, APL Sokhna, Kota Akbar, C S L Ride, Team worth No1, APL Brisbane, Sea Mirror, Yvonne, Yamaha, Olivia, OOCL Busan and Hua Qiang while MOL Bravery and Scirocco are due to sail out on Tuesday.
A total tonnage of 286,551 tonnes comprising 98,401 tonnes of export cargo and 188,150 tonnes of import cargo was handled by the port.
The following ships are due to arrive on Tuesday: Container carriers Zante and CAP Verde will arrive on Tuesday. Besides these, Melaspine Castle for loading 16,000 tonnes of talc powder and Seagull K for discharging 63,000 tonnes of APLMKERNEL Fatty Acid are also due for arrival at Karachi Port.
