Rawalpindi: Minister of Defense of Indonesia Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, have exchanged views on bilateral defence collaboration, regional security dynamics, and avenues to further strengthen military ties. This meeting took place at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where the Indonesian delegation, led by Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, met with the Pakistani military leadership.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions between the two sides highlighted the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Indonesia and Pakistan. Both leaders emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in maintaining peace and stability in the region. The Indonesian Minister of Defence expressed appreciation for the role of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to enhancing defence relations with Pakistan. The meeting served as a platform to discuss and explore various avenues to further bolster military ties and regional security cooperation.
