Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are two Countries but One nation: Prime Minister
Islamabad, July 02, 2012 (PPI-OT): Mr. Abdul Aziz Bin Ibrahim Bin Salih Al-Ghadeer, Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at PM’s House today and congratulated him on assuming the office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The Ambassador said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had exemplary relations, which had always stood the test of time. Both countries, whom the Ambassador described as ‘real brothers’, had been together through thick and thin. He said that more than 1.5 million Pakistani expatriates were contributing to development of Saudi Arabia in a big way.
The Prime Minister thanked the Saudi Ambassador for his felicitations and said that both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were brotherly countries whose bilateral relations were rooted in shared history, religion, and culture. The peoples of both countries feel for each other, the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were two countries but one nation whose hearts throbbed for each other.
The Prime Minister mentioned generous Saudi assistance during natural calamities such as earthquake of 2005, floods of 2010 and 2011. He said that his government was keen to further deepen the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. ‘I am keen to visit the Kingdom, Holy Land, in this respect,’ he added.
The Prime Minister said that the Pakistani diaspora community was not only contributing to the Saudi economy but also helping Pakistan through their generous remittances.
The Prime Minister asked the Saudi Ambassador to pay his highest regards and respects to His Majesty King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Custodian of Two Holy Mosques.
