Minister chairs Employees Old Age Benefit Institute’s meeting
Islamabad, July 21, 2012 (PPI-OT): “For the development of the labor market, there is a need for increasing rates of return to labor, the primary asset of any country, through better functioning of the labor market”, said Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Federal Minister for Human Resource Development. He was chairing the concluding ceremony of the regional heads conference of EOBI, an attached department of ministry of Human Resource Development here today.
Speaking at the occasion, The Minister said that the fundamentals of Total Quality Management (TQM) implied that the mission statement, envisioned by the top management, could be actualized with full understanding of the break-up of goals into the annual targets and the organizational transformation as a result of developmental process, was possible only through the concerted endeavors and hard work.
The Federal Minister held, “Salary structure of public sector needs to be reviewed with a view to maintain the positive growth of wages among all income level employees so as to avoid the intensity and severity of poverty among the urban households”. The minister announced a substantive pay-raise for the employees of the institution as was promised, being a reward for the above target achievement.
Chairman EOBI, Zafar Iqbal Gondal who was also present at the occasion, thanked the honorable minister, representing the voice of the institution’s employees. He said, “It is a matter of great honor and a source of encouragement for the employees of the institution that the Federal Minister took time out of his schedule to be a part of the ceremony.
The performance of the employees of EOBI is literally acknowledged with the fulfillment of pay-raise promise, for which we are highly grateful”.
All the regional heads were present at the occasion. The said conference was held to discuss the regional performance as well as to celebrate the above target achievement of the institution for the previous fiscal year.
