Protest against atrocities in Langate
Srinagar, March 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, people staged a protest demonstration against the continued arrest, harassment and atrocities committed by the Indian paramilitary forces at Langate in Handwara.
Residents of Bunpora, Tulwari and other areas of Langate told media men that paramilitary CRPF personnel went berserk and ransacked many houses and arrested youth.
Indian police used brute force on protesters and injured four people near Langate Chowk.
On the other hand, several youth were injured in Indian police actions during anti-India protest demonstrations at Nawab Bazar and Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, Indian authorities continued to place under house arrest the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik and APHC leader, Mukhtar Waza. The police raided the houses of Hurriyet leaders including JKLF leaders Bashir Kashmiri and District President Kulgam, Abdul Sattar.
