Peace in South Asia linked to Kashmir settlement: Firdous
Srinagar, May 27, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Firdous Ahmed Shah, has said that the durable peace in South Asia is linked to settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
Firdous Ahmed Shah addressing a party meeting in Srinagar said that India’s intransigence was the basic impediment in amicable resolution of the dispute. He said that Indian troops were committing gross human rights abuses in the occupied territory. He urged New Delhi to demonstrate seriousness towards addressing the lingering dispute.
Firdous Shah hoped that the new government in Pakistan would expedite the efforts for settling the conflict over Kashmir.
He paid glowing tributes to two Kashmiri youth of Palhallan and Tral areas who were recently martyred by Indian troops. He said that the Kashmiri people would not allow the sacrifices of their martyrs go waste and would take their mission to its logical conclusion at all costs.
