Commission on Enforced Disappearances regularly processing cases

Islamabad, May 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): A news release issued by the Inquiry Commission On Enforced Disappearances here Wednesday said twenty One (21) families of Missing Persons visited the Commission on 27th May, 2013.

The President of the Commission Justice ® Javed Iqbal and Mr. Muhammad Sharif Virk, Member, facilitated and heard the families of the Missing Persons and passed orders/directions on their applications to the concerned authorities for registration of the case and for redressal of their grievances.

The aggrieved families expressed full satisfaction over the working and processing of cases by the Commission.

The news release further said that cases of Missing Persons are being received regularly by the Commission from Human Right’s Cell, Supreme Court of Pakistan as well as Chairperson, Defence of Human Rights.

So far 255 cases from Human Right’s Cell, Supreme Court of Pakistan and 327 cases from Chairperson, Defence of Human Rights have been received and registered in the Commission. In these cases process/appropriate orders under the relevant rules have been issued to the concerned authorities for tracing the whereabouts of Missing Persons.
