Kashmiri diaspora to observe Martyrs’ Day tomorrow

Srinagar, July 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Advisory Council of International Chamber for Peace and Conciliation (ICPC) Kashmir Concern under the auspices of its international secretariat is organising a function in London in connection with the Martyrs’ Day tomorrow (July 13) to pay homage to those Kashmiris who sacrificed their today for the tomorrow of their people.

A statement issued by the ICPC in London said that the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the struggle for liberation of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation would be reaffirmed on the occasion.

It said that the function would be attended by community leaders, councillors and representatives of various political parties of Kashmiri Diaspora in the UK.

On this occasion, the services of veteran Kashmiri leader, Mohammed Yaqoob Chishti, for the cause of Kashmir will be highlighted, it added. Recently the Islamic Republic of Pakistan honoured Mohammed Yaqoob Chishti with Sitara-e-Pakistan for his contribution to the Kashmir cause.

The function will be addressed by Chairman of International Chamber for Peace and Conciliation (ICPC) Kashmir Concern, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, and the Chairman of International Council for Human Rights, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo.
