Karachi Metropolitan Corporation spray programme to be held on Eid-ul-Fitr
Karachi, August 02, 2013 (PPI-OT): Following the directives of KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi Municipal Services Department on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr has arranged Spray Program in all districts with the collaboration of concerned district municipal corporation and district council Karachi during which spray will be performed through 18 vehicles in the jurisdiction of five districts and district council Karachi before a day of Eid.
Three vehicles for each district and district council have been allocated which will perform spray in and around all Eidgahs, Mosques and Imam bargahs whereas two spray vehicles will remain available in Civic Centre so that they could be sent to any area on complaint.
Administrators and Municipal Commissioners of all districts with reference to spray campaign have been asked to deploy an officer for monitoring spray work. Meanwhile on the directives of KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, 9th round of fumigation under Malaria / Dengue fever control program of Municipal Services Department being started with the collaboration of district administration in the jurisdiction of five districts of KMC from 12th August which will carry on till 2nd September 2013.
Administrator Karachi Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi said that spray will be performed near the drains and downward areas in each union council of all districts. Sr. Director Municipal Services Masood Alam informed Administrator Karachi about spray schedule that spray will be carried out in different union councils of district south on 12th and 13th August whereas in district east on 15th, 16th, 17 and 19th August, in district central on 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd August, in district west on 24th, 26th, 27th and 28th August, in district Malir on 29th and 30th August and in rural areas of Karachi on 31st August and 2nd September. Spray will be performed in all districts in evening times.
Health Department of KMC has requested district administration to deploy an officer to monitor spray work who will submit work report of concerned district. 24 vehicles will participate in spray campaign and five districts and district councils will be covered during the campaign.
All administrators and municipal commissioners have been asked to ensure presence of their officers and staff and put all necessary machinery in fine condition during the campaign and submit the report in the officer of Sr. Director Municipal Services KMC on daily basis.
All concerned officers during campaign will remain present on their duties. Drivers of spray vehicles were directed to collect the report of spray work and submit the same to the office of Director MPH the following day. Administrator Karachi Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has appealed citizens to cooperate with spray teams in their areas so that spray campaign could be run properly for the elimination of mosquitoes and germs. Citizens could also lodge their complaints regarding spray on 1339.
