Mirwaiz rejects Panun’s demand for separate homeland
Srinagar, August 05 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has rejected the demand of a Jammu-based communal organisation of Kashmiri Pandits, Panun Kashmir, for a separate homeland for Pandits, saying that it can stoke a fire that will be impossible to extinguish.
The APHC Chairman addressing a gathering at Khanyar in Srinagar said, “Such an idea was a clear reflective of communal thinking ingrained in that party (Panun Kashmir). He said that the APHC had made it clear that it would never accept the split of Jammu and Kashmir on religious or regional basis since it would foment a fire that would be impossible to douse.
The Mirwaiz said that the Kashmiri Pandits were inalienable part of the Kashmiri society and as such the community should not pay heed to the propaganda of communal fanatics. “They should return to their respective homes in Kashmir,” he added.
