Srinagar, August 13 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, pro-freedom leaders and political and social organizations have continued to condemn the anti-Muslim riots across Jammu region.

Senior APHC leader and Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement said that the extent to which communal forces were hell-bent upon ransacking the lives and properties of Muslims of Jammu was extremely condemnable.

“They have mercilessly become the blood-thirsty of Muslims of Jammu. The more heartening and condemnable is that police is continuing its policy of arresting innocent Muslims.”

He said that the Indian communalists were driving the entire South Asian region into communalism. Lashing out at authorities over the arrest of party leader Abdul Qayoom and other freedom party activists said that authorities instead of arresting the oppressors was hell bent upon harassing the oppressed.

Other Hurriyet leaders and organizations including Farooq Ahmad Dar, Zafar Akbar Butt, Yasmeen Raja, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Aasiya Andrabi, Farida Behanji, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet, Peoples Freedom League and Jamaat-e-Islami in their separate statements denounced the anti-Muslim violence in Jammu.

They said that the Muslims living in Jammu were more insecure. These leaders announced to observe complete strike on 15th August to mark India’s Independence Day as black.

President of Kashmiri Doctors Association, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan in his statement termed Kishtwar clashes as unfortunate and painful. “It is distressing and disgusting to see loss of precious human lives and property. Our souls are wounded and heart bleeds to see this madness,” he added.
