United Arab Emirates Ambassador calls on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar
Islamabad, September 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): His Excellency Mr. Essa Abdulla Al Basha Al Noaimi, Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan called on Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at his office today.
While talking to the Ambassador of UAE Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan and UAE enjoy close and brotherly relations.
The Ambassador of UAE said that the relations between Pakistan and UAE are based on solid foundations. UAE, he said has investment in Pakistan nearing 21 billion dollars.
The Ambassador said that he brings greetings from Shaikh Rashid Al Makhtoom, the Finance Minister of UAE for Senator Ishaq Dar and assurances of continued cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador said that UAE would respond positively to the call made by Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif for investment and expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries.
The Finance Minister said that the present government had inherited a difficult financial situation. We are now coming to grips with the problems and addressing them with a view to improve our economy, said the Finance Minister. In this connection, he referred to various economic initiatives taken by the government and recently concluded programme with IMF. International donor agencies like ADB, IMF and World Bank had now taken comfort and were forthcoming to do business with Pakistan, he added.
