Srinagar, November 24, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has decided to raise before the High Court the issue of disgracing a woman visitor by the personnel of Indian Central Reserve Police Force in Srinagar central jail.

The HCBA General Secretary, Mohammad Ashraf Butt, in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the stripping of a woman by the CRPF women personnel inside the jail premises. He said that such an illegal, unlawful and unwarranted action by the CRPF and the jail authorities was only aimed at harassing the relatives, friends and family members of the prisoners.

He said that search of the visitors by the CRPF personnel at the Srinagar central jail was rampant for decades and was manifestly a violation of the Jail Manual.

The HCBA has accordingly decided to raise the issue in the already pending PIL filed in relation to prison problems before the High Court and seek appropriate directives to all the concerned, he added.
