Pakistan Navy Continues relief efforts at drought hit area in Thar
Karachi, March 14, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Navy continues relief efforts at drought-hit area in Thar which include provision of ration goods/food packages, medical assistance through medical camps and water distribution. PN relief camp has already been established at Diplo comprising 42 personnel including PN officers.
Besides dispatch of four trucks of food ration, medical team comprising doctors and paramedical staff which includes General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs), Gynecologists, Child Specialists, Medical Specialists, Pathologists and Paramedics are already providing medical assistance to the affectees at Diplo area.
Prior launching relief support, a recce was conducted to identify the drought-hit area in Tharparkar to ascertain extent of help required. On the basis of recce, Diplo area has been earmarked in proximity of Mithi city and surrounding villages which are most affected and need maximum relief support. The support will continue till the normalization of crisis situation.
