Ambassador of Tajikistan calls on Zahid Hamid
Islamabad, June 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): H.E Sherali the Ambassador of Tajikistan called on Mr. Zahid Hamid, Federal Minister for Science and Technology here in his office in Islamabad.
Areas of mutual interest, bilateral ties and cooperation in various sectors particularly in the field of Science and Technology came under discussion during the meeting. The meeting also discussed various proposed MoUs in the field of S and T which would be signed during the scheduled visit of Prime Minister of Pakistan to the Republic of Tajikistan.
While talking to the Ambassador, the Minister said that both Tajikistan and Pakistan enjoy close brotherly ties which are deeply embedded in history, religion and tradition.
They agreed that there is a great potential in both the countries to learn from each other’s experiences in the field of S and T .They discussed the mutually agreed joint collaborative projects including collision granite of Pamir and Pakistan, exploitation of indigenous and exotic medicinal plants for herbal drugs and addressing the energy crisis by development and research oriented solar energy projects.
The ambassador apprised that Tajikistan have a good R and D expertise in hydro power generation and offered services to develop the Hydro power projects in Pakistan. The Minister thanked the Ambassador and said that bilateral relations between the two Muslim brethren nations would be strengthened by every passing day.
