Setting up of separate cities for Pandits in IOK opposed
Srinagar, July 03, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Majlis Ittehad-e-Millat Jammu and Kashmir, a representative forum of the religious organizations of the territory, has opposed the setting up of satellite cities for Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley
The General Secretary of Majlis Ittehad-e-Millat Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Sumji addressing a press conference in Srinagar said: “We are not against return of the Pandits. But we won’t allow separate cities for them in the Valley.”
He said that the establishment of separate cities for Kashmiri Pundits was a conspiracy of the Indian rulers to change the demography of Kashmir, which would be resisted at all costs. He said that New Delhi was using every tactic to divide the people of Kashmir on the communal lines but would never succeed in its sinister designs.
Ghulam Nabi Sumji said that India, under a pre-planned conspiracy, also wanted to enforce Hindi language instead of Urdu in the territory. He said that Urdu was commonly spoken in all parts of the occupied territory and replacing Urdu with Hindi would be cruelty and injustice with the Kashmiri people.
