Chief Secretary Sindh takes drastic action against responsible Police officials linked to deaths of people affected by raw- wine

Karachi, October 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has taken drastic action against the responsible Police officials linked to the deaths of people affected by the raw- wine in various areas of Korangi District. DSPs Korangi and Landhi, including 06 SHOs of Korangi, Landhi, Sharafi Goth, Zaman Town, Ibrahim Hyderi and Shah Lateef Town have been suspended.

Sajjad Saleem Hotiana asked the Secretary Excise to forthwith initiate the crack down, throughout the province and submit comprehensive report with regard to anti-drugs/ Narcotics measures. He also called the follow – up report regarding functioning of ANF (Anti Narcotics Force ) in Sindh within a week. Sajjad categorically noted that the elements behind the recent incidents in Korangi and Hyderabad. Director Excise Hyderabad and Karachi have also been suspended to this effect. DIG Hyderabad Sanaullah Abbasi, during the meeting, telephonically informed the CS that two DSPs and 05 SHOs have been suspended in addition to 50 officials of Excise and Police in Hyderabad, in similar incident occurred last week.

C.S. advised the Secretary Health to ensure transparent medical and chemical examination of the dead bodies concerned, and case under section 302, be got registered based on the report, against the defaulters. Commissioner Karachi Shoaib A Siddiqui, Secretary Home and Excise and Add. IGP G.Q. Thebo also attended the meeting.
