Pulwama shuts against killing of youth
Srinagar, September 13, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, a complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama district, today, against the killing of a local youth who was martyred by Indian troops during siege and search operation in the area. Irshad Ahmad Ganai of Padgampora, was killed in Kakapora area by the troops, yesterday. All shops and business establishments are closed in the town. Meanwhile, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of Irshad.
On the other hand, so-called first-ever International Marathon in Kashmir, backed by occupation authorities, was disrupted as hundreds of people raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans at the venue in Hazratbal area of Srinagar, today. The protesting people also pelted stones on the men in uniform who were deployed in large numbers. As the participants started gathering at the venue, people raised anti-India slogans and hoisted Pakistani flags. Clashes between protesters and police were also reported on the occasion.
