Chief Secretary Sindh calls for detailed report on encroachment on Karachi Water and Sewerage Board land

Karachi, September 28, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon has asked the Sindh Planning and Development Department to finalize an effective strategy for implementation of the Karachi Greater S-III (Sewerage) Project, with active collaboration of Nation Building Departments, Utility organizations and development agencies, including KPT, DHA, Cantonment Boards etc.

While presiding over a review meeting of the various projects of KW and SB here today at his office which was attended among others by Add: Chief Secretary Planning and Development Aijaz Ali Khan, Secretary Finance Suhail Rajput, Director General Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), M.D. KWSB Misbah –uddin Fareed and others.

The Chief Secretary directed the Industries Department to coordinate with the industrialists’ association including KATI (Korangi Association of Trade and Industries), and Industrial Estates of SITE, North Karachi , F.B. Area, Landhi and Korangi paving the way for early construction of the combined effluent treatment plants (CETP) in their respective areas. He asked for submitting a detailed PC-I of the project within 03 days. He also called investigative report on encroachment over the KW and SB Land by the Friday next. C.S. also instructed the M.D. KW and SB for taking urgent steps to resolve the on-going water crisis in the metropolis.
