Jammu, September 30, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and Muslim Democratic League President, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed has said that India’s claim over Jammu and Kashmir is in negation of historical facts about the territory. He while addressing a party meeting in Srinagar, today, supported Pakistan’s stand that the people of Kashmir should be granted to right to self-determination as per UN resolutions. He said that if the Kashmir dispute was not addressed in its historical perspective and as per people’s aspirations, peace in South Asia would remain at stake.

The Hurriyet leader termed the settlement of the Kashmir dispute as imperative for peace, progress and development in Pakistan and India. Hakeem Abdur Rasheed said that the Hurriyet forum led by Syed Ali Gilani had emerged as most dynamic platform to falsify India’s fake claims of calling Kashmir as its integral part. He stressed all resistance voices to strengthen the platform for early liberation of the territory from Indian bondage.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Insaf Party Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar in a statement in Srinagar condemned the authorities for placing Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyet leaders under continued detention. He called upon Amnesty International and other human rights organization to take notice of the situation in the territory.

On the other hand, wife of Muhammad Sultan Butt, who is representative of Insaf Party in Azad Kashmir, has passed away after protracted illness at a hospital in Rawalpindi. She has been buried in Muzaffarabad. Funeral prayers of the deceased were held in Rawalpindi and Muzaffarabad. Insaf Party leaders and other Hurriyet leaders have condoled with Sultan Butt over demise of his wife.
