Karachi: The 135 years old heritage fountain in Karachi Zoo was made operational again after a gap of 26 years. Boating (Kashti Rani) and Mumtaz Mahal facilities were also resumed for citizens which had been terminated 26 years ago. Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed will on Zoo Day (Sunday 29th January) inaugurate these projects.

Various recreational and informative programs have been planned for this occasion while the well off people would give different species of animals and birds as gift to Karachi Zoo. Social and educational organizations will setup their stalls in Karachi Zoo. This may be noted that Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed had desired to make Karachi Zoo a modern and beautiful zoological garden.

Measures were being taken to induct more animals and birds into Karachi Zoo and the renovation and colouring work was already underway speedily. Director Zoo Bashir Saddozai has expressed hope that a good number of people would visit Karachi Zoo on Zoo Day. Entrance in zoo will be free for families on 29th January and the security has been made strict.
