Advocate Nadeem Ahmad misleading media
Islamabad, June 19, 2012 (PPI-OT): National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Nadeem Ahmad Advocate on the non bailable warrants of arrest issued by the Accountability Court Karachi. The accused is misleading the media that he was arrested without any arrest warrants.
NAB arrested the accused from his home when he was trying to escape the scene. NAB is an independent organization and takes action against every corrupt person without any influence and under the provisions of its law. In this case, the accused Nadeem Ahmad Advocate Ex-Director Callmate Telips Telecom Limited (CTTL) is involved in corruption of Rs 5 billion by cheating public at large. Nadeem Ahmad Advocate was one of the seven accused persons in this case.
On 30th April 2012 a reference was signed by the Chairman NAB against seven accused persons including Nadeem Ahmad Advocate which was later on filed with the Accountability Court. Initially the case was filed in NAB by new management of CTTL.
Arrest warrants were initially issued against six accused persons including Nadeem Ahmad Advocate on 29th May 2012 by the Accountability Court No. IV. Arrest warrants against five accused persons were repeated on 14 June 2012 as one of the accused Hasan Jamil Ansari was arrested by NAB. So, pinning this arrest with Judiciary is wrong.
The accused advocate’s role in the restoration of judiciary may be of worth mentioning but good work done on any issue does not give anyone a certificate to play havoc with other matters. The impression that reference was filed only two weeks ago to arrest the accused person especially at the time when the case of Arslan Iftikhar was unearthed is incorrect as the reference was signed by the Chairman NAB six weeks ago.
