Srinagar, February 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) has said the execution of Muhammad Afzal Guru was a political conspiracy.KEA spokesperson in a statement said, “Afzal Guru was executed under a political conspiracy hatched at Delhi by Congress party to gain political mileage in the forthcoming Indian parliamentary elections.”

“Not only people of Kashmir, even the thinkers in India have condemned the hanging of Afzal as they too feel that Afzal became the victim of election politics, ” the statement said.

“Afzal was hanged without giving him a free and fair trial,” it said, adding that this was done even as the Indian government knew that it will hurt the sentiments of people of Kashmir.

“How inhuman and unjust it is that the family members of Afzal were not informed about his execution and the irony is that even the mortal remains of Afzal Guru are not being returned to his family for performing the last religious rites which is their legitimate right,” it said.

The policy of Indian Congress towards Kashmir has all along been dubious that has kept Kashmir in a state of political uncertainty and economic dependency, the KEA spokesman said.
