As Chief Guest, Prof. Iqbal highlighted the need for media to adapt to rapid technological changes while maintaining journalistic responsibility. According to Press Information Department, Prof. Iqbal noted the constraints on freedom of speech in the West and emphasized the importance of respecting Pakistan’s cultural and religious values. He urged the industry to manage this change responsibly, preserving journalistic ethics and human oversight. Emphasizing the need for diversification, the Minister encouraged Pakistani media to cover topics beyond politics, such as tourism, culture, and economic stories, to reflect a changing society.
In his conclusion, Prof. Iqbal praised the resilience of Pakistani journalists and called for collaborative efforts among media professionals, policymakers, and tech leaders to foster a balanced, ethical, and influential media environment in Pakistan.
