Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says, on the directives of the Prime Minister, one thousand farming experts will be sent to China for training in agricultural sector.
Chairing a meeting flanked by Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in Islamabad today, he said eleven million dollars will be spent on their training.
The Minister said this step will lay the foundation of green revolution in the country as they will learn the modern methods of agriculture in China.
Ahsan Iqbal said unfortunately Pakistan imported agricultural products of around ten billion dollars annually due to low yield per acre.
He said agriculture holds a significant position in the national development.
On his part, Rana Tanveer Hussain said these people after acquiring training from China will play a pivotal role to replace the conventional methods with modern ones in agricultural sector of country.
