Ahsan Urges Developed Nations to Fulfill Their Commitment for Climate Finance

Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has urged developed countries to honor their commitments to mobilize one hundred billion dollars annually for climate finance to address the challenge of climate change.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a ceremony focused on climate change held in Islamabad, Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the necessity for the international community to create regional protocols rather than relying on fragmented responses to effectively mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change. He highlighted the importance of a coordinated global effort to tackle the environmental crisis.

The Minister also reiterated his commitment to increasing the share of renewable energy to sixty percent of the total energy mix by the year 2030. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to transition towards sustainable energy sources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, contributing to the global fight against climate change.
