All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association demands paper and paper board trade with India
Lahore, March 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) has demanded of the government to start trade of paper and paper board with India immediately that would end the monopoly of paper mafia and provide relief to the inflation-hit common man.
In a joint press statement issued here Tuesday, the leader of APPMA Businessmen Group Khamis Saeed Butt, APPMA President Muhammad Ajma and Vice President Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen said in connivance with the FBR, printing papers was included in the negative list therefore, paper mafia has created monopoly and making repeated increases in the paper prices and promoting under invoicing causing heavy loss to the national exchequer.
They said that on the invitation of APPMA, a high-powered delegation of Indian Paper Manufacturers Association was willing to visit Pakistan but paper mafia become a hurdle. They said that FBR has included Art Paper, Art Card and Sticker paper in the negative list that were not being manufactured locally. They demanded of the government to start trade of paper and paper board with India immediately.
