Ambassador of Kazakhstan calls on the Prime Minister
Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan have always enjoyed frictionless relationship. Tremendous scope existed to further expand their highly cordial ties.
During a courtesy call by Ambassador Aider Jundyayeb of Kazakhstan on the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s House this morning, various aspects of Pakistan-Kazakh relations were discussed.
The Prime Minister expressed his Government’s desire to strengthen political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries. Pakistan’s leadership has always placed an added emphasis on its relations with Central Asian Republics particularly Kazakhstan.
Several high level visits have been exchanged between the two countries, the high point being the visit by President Zardari to Astana to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in June this year.
Referring to his forthcoming visit to Kazakhstan, the Prime Minister noted that his visit being a bilateral one was being planned after a long gap. The visit was, therefore, important to further enhance economic, commercial and cultural cooperation and interaction between the two countries.
Ambassador Aider Jundyayeb shared with the Prime Minister his dream to have great multifaceted relations with Pakistan. He was highly appreciative of the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Pakistan, he said, was his country’s main partner in South Asia. The Prime Minister’s forthcoming visit would present an opportunity to add further strength to bilateral relations.
