Analyst Hails Pakistan’s Role in International Campaign on Terrorism

Islamabad: Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan, an expert in international relations, has commended Pakistan's active participation in the global coalition against terrorism. He highlighted the significant human and financial sacrifices made by Pakistanis in the fight against terrorism. Dr. Khan emphasized the importance of fulfilling commitments made by the de-facto Afghan Taliban regime in the Doha accord, particularly regarding the prevention of Afghan soil being used against neighboring countries.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Afghan Taliban regime's failure to meet these commitments has allowed non-state actors to become increasingly active in Afghanistan. These groups have been conducting terrorist activities against Pakistan from Afghan territory. Dr. Khan called on the global community to assist Pakistan in its ongoing battle against terrorism and to exert pressure on the Taliban regime to halt the activities of these non-state actors, especially those targeting Pakistan.

Dr. Khan also pointed out the active collaboration between Indian and Israeli entities and the Afghan de-facto regime, which has been detrimental to Pakistan. This nexus is accused of supporting terrorists with financial resources, logistical assistance, and weaponry, as well as providing safe havens within Afghanistan. He stressed the responsibility of the international community to urge Israel and India to cease their actions against Pakistan. Furthermore, he underscored the crucial role of the United States in combating terrorism and urged it to pressure Israel and India to desist from targeting Pakistan.

The internal situation in Afghanistan remains chaotic, with the de-facto regime yet to receive recognition from the international community. This instability is exacerbated by infighting among various groups, further complicating the region's security landscape. Dr. Khan reiterated the need for international intervention to stabilize Afghanistan and prevent it from becoming a breeding ground for terrorism that threatens regional peace.
