APHC calls upon world to prevent New Delhi from further escalating volatile situation in IIOJK

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Masarrat Aalam Butt and other Hurriyat leaders have called upon the International Community to prevent India from further escalating the volatile situation in the region by fiddling with the UN-designated disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the reaction comes after the Indian government allowed its citizens to vote in IIOJK assembly elections. In a message from an Indian jail Musarrat Alam Butt strongly denounced the move and warned the international community that New Delhi is converting occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a settler colony as Israel is doing in occupied Palestine.

He said the Indian government is bringing people from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and other states as part of its plan to initially settle more than 2.5 million non-locals in occupied Kashmir.

Other APHC leaders including Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Abdul Ahad Parra, Javed Ahmad Mir, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori and Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said the latest Indian move is a brazen violation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir.

Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti addressing the media in Srinagar said the BJP wants to install a local fascist and to de-franchise the Kashmiri people.
