Srinagar, March 21, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, APHC has demanded a thorough investigation into the massacre of 36 Kashmiri Sikhs in Chattisinghpora and punishment to the murderers involved in the gruesome act. APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the silence of the international community and rights bodies over the incident as unfortunate. He said that 36 innocent civilians belonging to Sikh community of Kashmir were brutally killed and killers were neither brought to book, so far, nor was the crime investigated impartially so that the offenders could be brought to book and justice provided to the victim families.

The spokesman appealed to the international rights bodies to take strong notice of the human rights violations in Kashmir. “Forces in the past 25 years have carried out dozens of such massacres in Kashmir including Gaw Kadal, Handwara, Kupwara, Hawal, Bijbehara, Aali Kadal, Shopian, Sopore and other incidents,” he deplored.
