The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has denounced the ongoing elections organized by the BJP-led government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas has labeled the elections a farce that cannot replace a United Nations-acknowledged plebiscite to determine the region's political future. He highlighted several UN resolutions affirming that elections in the territory cannot replace a referendum. He criticized the oppressive atmosphere created by the deployment of over one million Indian troops, which has turned polling booths into prison-like settings. He urged the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the European Union to pressure India to halt human rights violations, repeal repressive laws, release all political prisoners, and resolve the Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Meanwhile, a protest was held in front of UN Human Rights Council headquarters on Geneva by Kashmiri community to condemn atrocities being committed by India troops in IIOJK. Source: Radio Pakistan
