Quetta: Provincial Apex Committee, Balochistan has decided to accelerate crackdown against trafficking, illegal remittances, and social media accounts involved in anti-state propaganda. The decisions were taken at a meeting of the 19th Apex Committee chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. Corps Commander Balochistan Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, along with senior civilian and military officials, attended the meeting.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting issued directives to the FIA to take effective action against elements involved in illegal remittances. It also decided to take strict action against transport companies involved in smuggling. Furthermore, it was decided that no highway in the province will be closed in the name of protest.
The Apex Committee decided to provide a favorable environment to mine owners for investment and business. It was decided to make action against illegal immigrants more effective and improve the response mechanism against terrorists.
On infrastructural development, the meeting decided that the provincial government will undertake the expansion of Bolan Route National Highway and Dera Murad Jamali Bypass projects. The National Highway Authority was directed to complete the Quetta Western Bypass by December this year.
The meeting also decided to activate the District Development Committees. It was decided that Independence Day on 14th August this year will be celebrated with national zeal and enthusiasm across Balochistan under the theme ‘Marka-e-Haq’ as per the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In his remarks, Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti asked FIA to speed up action against the elements involved in subversion against the state. He underscored the need to keep the youth away from drugs and subversion. Bugti emphasized that corruption, illegal remittances, and extortion will be stopped at all costs, and no one will be allowed to work against the state.
Sarfraz Bugti stated that they will ensure implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting to lead Balochistan on the path of sustainable peace and development.
