In Afghanistan, four international aid agencies including Save the Children have suspended humanitarian programmes in response to the interim government’s ban on working of female employees.
In a joint statement, three NGOs, Save the Children, Norwegian Refugee Council and CARE International said they are suspending their programme until a clarity about the order.
Separately, the International Rescue Committee said in a statement said it is suspending its services in the country, citing similar reasons.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep concern abover out the ban imposed by Taliban government on women to work for NGOs in Afghanistan.
US, Norway, Germany, Australia, Canada, and Amnesty International have also condemned ban on Afghan women employees in None-Governmental Organizations.
