The Benazir Income Support Programme is providing financial assistance to over 9.3 million deserving families in a dignified manner. According to the BISP, an amount of 10,500 rupees per quarter is currently being distributed to needy women under the Benazir Kafalat Programme. From the next year, this amount will be increased to 13,500 rupees per quarter. Besides, 7.3 million children have been enrolled in schools through the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Programme, while two million mothers and children are benefitting from the Benazir Nashonuma Programme. BISP Savings Scheme has been launched with a pilot phase encouraging 150,000 people to save money. The BISP will contribute an additional forty percent of the gross savings accumulated by participants, which will be paid to them on a quarterly basis. Over 7,000 women have been trained under BISP's digital and financial literacy programme to date. Furthermore, 25 mobile registration vans are currently operating in remote areas of Sindh and Balochistan for th e registration of needy individuals. Source: Radio Pakistan
