BJP Leaders statement on Kashmir widely Denounced
Srinagar, July 02, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders reacting strongly to the statement of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader on Kashmir have said that Indian leaders cannot succeed in changing the disputed nature of Kashmir through such statements.
Senior Hurriyet leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in his statement expressing serious resentment over the assertions made by the BJP leader, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Kashmir had never been part of India; rather it occupied the territory occupied it forcibly and illegally.
Naqvi in a statement had talked of a single country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in total disregard for the UN resolutions acknowledging the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah made it clear that Kashmir was neither part of India nor would it ever be. “India is ruling Kashmir with its military might. History is testimony to this fact that forcible rule has to get perished one day or the other,” he added.
The forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani while terming the BJP leader’s statement as his frustration, said that the disputed nature of Kashmir was such a huge and clear reality that a sound minded person cannot deny.
Forum’s Spokesman Ayaz Akbar in a statement said that the freedom struggle was a living reality, which had the backing of 18 UN resolutions. Meanwhile, President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, General Mohammad Moosa stressed the need for a permanent resolution of the long pending Kashmir dispute. He termed the BJP statement as ridiculous.
