Business Community concerned over persistent lockdown of Occupied Kashmir
Islamabad, September 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): The local business community in a meeting at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry showed great concerns over the continued lockdown of Occupied Kashmir and brutal atrocities being committed by the Indian forces on the innocent Kashmiris since the revocation of its special status. They vowed to stand by the Kashmiri people in this hour of need till the time they get complete freedom from India.
Speaking at the occasion, Ahmed Hassan Moughal, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry urged that business community should raise its voice at every forum to condemn the atrocities of India in Kashmir to expose India’s true face to the world. He said that India has locked down Kashmir for the last over 32 days due to which people were facing great sufferings.
He called upon the international community to play its role in resolution of Kashmir issue, which has the potential to start a new war in the region. He cautioned that the worsening situation in Kashmir would have an impact not just on the region, but the whole word and stressed that international community should pay urgent attention to this hot issue for its resolution.
Ahmed Hassan Moughal said that due to persistent curfew, shops and businesses were closed in Kashmir Valley due to which the people were facing shortage of food and medicines. He said this situation was not only causing great losses to the businesses, it was adding to the miseries of the people. He said that India was giving collective punishment to innocent Kashmiris by arresting young people during night raids and enforcing disappearances of many people. He called upon the Indian leadership to immediately stop this inhuman treatment of Kashmiris, otherwise, it would raise more tensions threatening the peace of the entire region.
Rafat Farid Senior Vice President and Iftikhar Anwar Sethi Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry urged the business community to use their linkages and connections at national and international levels to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people and expose the fascism of India. They urged that government in cooperation with all the chambers of commerce and industry should formulate a way forward to economically empower the Kashmiri entrepreneurs.
The business community reiterated complete support to the Kashmir cause and expressed solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir who were being subjected to severe brutality by the Indian occupation forces by imposing round-the-clock curfew across the occupied State of Jammu and Kashmir.
