Newly elected AJKLA members take oath of their offices in Muzaffarabad

The newly elected members of AJK Legislative Assembly (AJKLA) took the oath of their offices at a special session of the assembly in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.

Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir administered oath to them.

Significant numbers of leaders and workers of the political parties were present inside and outside the hall.

The oath-taking is scheduled to be followed by elections for offices of Speaker and Deputy Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly.

Election for the leader of the house will take place tomorrow.

Only politics of development and public service will prevail in Pakistan now: Buzdar

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said now only the politics of development and public service will prevail in Pakistan.

Talking to the Member National Assembly Riaz Fatyana and Punjab Minister for Women Development Ashifa Riaz who called on him in Lahore today (Sunday), the Punjab Chief Minister said the government will continue to respond to the negative politics of propagandists through public service.

Riaz Fatyana and Ashifa Riaz congratulated the Chief Minister on the victory of the PTI candidate in the by-election in PP-38 Sialkot and lauded the his vision of a separate development package for each district to advance sustainable and composite development in Punjab.

Federal govt to create 200,000 new green jobs by end of 2021: Sindh Governor

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail inaugurated monsoon tree plantation drive in Karachi today (Saturday), as part of “Clean Green Pakistan Initiative” under the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami programme.

The aim of this programme is to Promote Environmental Sustainability and Biodiversity.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said the federal government is targeting to create 200,000 new green jobs by the end of this year under its ecological protection and restoration projects.

He said the campaign includes restoring mangroves and forests, as well as planting trees in urban settings, including schools, colleges, public parks and green belts.

DG Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation visits CRI, PBA

Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Muhammad Asim Khichi visited Pakistan Broadcasting Academy and China-Radio International (CRI), Islamabad on Friday.

On this occasion, Director CRI Chen Xiang (Shaheen) briefed the DG about functioning of the various sections including FM 98 Dosti channel.

President urges Ulema to preach teachings of Islam on social issues

President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged Ulema and Mashaikh to play their role in preaching the teachings of Islam on important social issues including women’s rights in inheritance.

Talking to delegation of Ulema led by Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad in Islamabad on Monday, he said Islam is the first religion in giving women the right to inherit.

He said the Ulema should educate the people about the negative impacts of growing population and health issues. He said they should also work for social reform and promotion of moral values.

The President stressed to promote inter-faith and inter-religious harmony utilizing masajid. He also paid tribute to Ulema for their contribution in creating awareness among the people on adhering Standard Operating Procedures during Corona pandemic.
