Interior Minister directs LEAs to maintain security on high alert during Muharram

Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has said elaborated security measures have been taken for protection of life and property of citizens during Ashoora e Muharram.

Chairing a special meeting to discuss law and order situation, he said a special cell has been established at the Ministry of Interior to constantly monitor the law and order situation during 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram.

The minister said the Cell will work round the clock.

The meeting also discussed law and order situation in federal capital, four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan and was attended by federal Secretary Interior and other representatives from law enforcement agencies and finalized a strategy with mutual consultation to maintain peace across the country during Ashoora e Muhamaram.

The Minister directed the law enforcement agencies to maintain security on high alert by taking strict security measures to ensure peaceful holding of mourning processions during the Muharram without creating hurdles for people in their routine activities.

He said civil armed forces have been deployed to support the local administrations for maintaining law and order.

Increase in technology sector’s export top priority of Govt: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan says increase in exports in technology sector is one of the priorities of the government.

Talking to Chairman Special Technology Zones Authority Aamir Hashmi in Islamabad on Monday, he said the government is providing facilities to the manpower associated with information technology.

The progress in Islamabad Technopolis project was discussed in the meeting.

The Chairman Special Technology Zones Authority informed the Prime Minister that local and foreign companies are taking keen interest to invest in technology zones.

He said technology zones will be established in the Federal Capital as well as in all provincial capitals.

People in IIOJ&K face illegal occupation, oppression of India: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan says government is focussed on taking steps for public welfare in Azad Jammu and Kashmir but on the other hand people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are facing illegal occupation and oppression of India.

Talking to Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi in Islamabad today, he said difference on both sides of Line of Control is clear.

They discussed reforms agenda for administrative infrastructure in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, transparency in government system and steps for ensuring public service.

Four more ministers, three advisers, one special assistant inducted in Sindh cabinet

A major reshuffle has been made in the Sindh cabinet with four more ministers, three advisers and one special assistant have been inducted in the provincial cabinet.

Following the reshuffle, the Sindh government decided to retain Murtaza Wahab for the portfolio of adviser to CM on law and provincial spokesperson.

Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani was given the portfolio of Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Prisons, Manzoor Wassan agriculture, Fayyaz Butt Zakat and Ushr, Rasul Bux Rehabilitation and Relief’s adviser.

Ismail Rahoo has been given the minister’s portfolio for Universities & Boards, Environment & Coastal Development, Makhdoom Mehboob as Revenue Minister, Saeed Ghani Labour and Information, Syed Sardar Shah Culture, Tourism and Education, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah Local Government, Housing, Town Planning and Public Engineering, Jam Ikram-Ullah Dharejo Industries and Cooperation, Sajid Jokhio Social Welfare, Gian Chand Minorities Affairs, Jam Khan Shoro Irrigation and Zia Abbas Works and Service.

Masood urges OIC to establish humanitarian corridor to aid people of IIOJ&K

AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has called upon the members states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to establish a humanitarian corridor to aid the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir, who are under siege and facing Indian state’s brutality.

Talking to a 12-member delegation of the OIC- Independent Human Rights Commission in Muzaffarabad today (Friday), he thanked the OIC for its courageous and steadfast support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The AJK President also expressed his deep gratitude to the commission for publishing a comprehensive and comprehenive report in March 2017 on the human rights situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Sardar Masood Khan said Indian troops are engaged in killing unarmed and defenceless people of IIOJK.

Director General Radio Pakistan Muhammad Asim Khichi says the government is working on digitalization of Radio Pakistan to enhance its outreach.

Talking to sectional heads during his visit to Radio Pakistan Peshawar, he said under the public private partnership the employees of Radio Pakistan will be provided residential facilities soon negotiation with various organizations are underway for this purpose.

Earlier, Muhammad Asim Khichi planted a sapling in the lawn of the broadcasting house.

Modi’s Nazism bound to face defeat: AJK President

President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan has underlined that 220 million people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir are determined to jointly defeat Narendra Modi’s Nazism the way the world had joined hands to thwart Hitler’s Nazism in the mid-20th century.

Talking to the media after leading a mammoth protest rally along with the Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum Niazi in Muzaffarabad today (Thursday), he said that India has unleashed  war of civilizations against Kashmiri people which is designed to deprive them of their culture, civilization, history, and their language.

He said that according to international laws, Geneva Convention, and the ICC statutes, this action by India is a war crime and genocide.

National highways play key role in progress, prosperity of country: Zahoor

Governor Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha has said laying a network of national highways and providing safe and comfortable journeys to the people are among the priorities of the present government.

Talking on the occasion of his visit to Regional Office of National Highways Authority in Quetta, he said that national highways play a key role in the progress and prosperity of the country.

The Governor expressed concern over the loss of human lives in road accidents and stressed the need to take steps to prevent the road accident.

Earlier, Member West Zone Shahid Ehsanullah briefed the Governor about the performance of the National Highways Authority and it’s under construction projects in the province.
