Islamabad: The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises has approved the appointment of independent directors for several State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). The decision was made during a meeting held in Islamabad, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
According to Radio Pakistan, the committee has appointed five independent directors for the Printing Corporation of Pakistan, six for the Fisheries Development Board, and nine for the Pakistan Cotton Standards Institute. Additionally, two independent directors have been appointed each for the Livestock and Dairy Development Board and the Overseas Pakistanis’ Foundation.
The committee also sanctioned the reconstitution of the Boards of Directors for four railway SOEs. These include the Pakistan Railways Advisory and Consultancy Services, Pakistan Railways Freight Transportation Company, Railways Estate Development and Marketing Company, and Railways Construction Pakistan Limited.
