Chairman Federal Board of Revenue directs Station House Officer Police Station Airport to Register Case
Islamabad: Chairman FBR Directs SHO Police Station Airport to Register Case under HADD Order 1979 against Attiqa Odho on the explanation called by the HCJP from him.

“The News” dated 05.06.2011 regarding illegal release of famous actress Attiqa Odho by the Airport Security Force (ASF), Islamabad despite recovery of two bottles of imported liquor from her luggage had called explanation from the Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue as to whether there are different laws for powerful/influential persons and ordinary persons as Ms. Attiqa Odho was allowed to go scot free although, prima-facie, there was an offence under the Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order 1979.
The Chairman, FBR has offered his explanation stating therein that the following actions have been taken:
1. Letter has been sent to the relevant Customs authority to proceed under the Customs Act against the accused.
2. Letter has been sent to Police authorities for lodging the FIR under Hadd Order against the accused.
3. General instructions issued from Member Customs to all field formations in future to proceed in accordance with law and to treat all citizens in accordance with law, equitably and without discrimination.
