Citizens should join hands with the government for making the environment clean: Federal Minister for Sports
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Sports and SAFRON Eng. Shaukatullah on Saturday underlined the need for making environment clean and said that citizens should join hands with the Government in its efforts for making the environment pollution free.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of “Islamabad Natural Stream Restoration Project (INSRP)” launched by Islamabad Rotary International Club here at Islamabad Club, he said that contamination of the natural streams by sewage had several detrimental impacts on the environment and also the general sanitation of Islamabad.
He lauded the joint venture project of the Rotary International Club and CDA and hoped that it would be a pilot project and soon be extended to other cities of the country.
The Minister said that as under the 18th amendment several ministries are being devolved to provinces, The Rotary International Club should extend its support to provincial governments in different welfare projects.
