City delivered 37 Thousand Tones Garbage to Landfill sites
Karachi: During the first week of Clean and Green Karachi Campaign a total of 37,361 tonnes of garbage was lifted from different parts of city and disposed of at city government’s landfill site at Jam Chakro and Gondpass.
Cantonment Boards Karachi, Faisal, Clifton and Pakistan Navy also delivered about 949 tonnes garbage to above landfill sites during last seven days of campaign.
According to details, city district government Karachi and town administration was performing cleaning work on a daily basis. Heavy machinery and manpower was used for lifting of garbage from designated garbage transfer stations and then shifting it to landfill site.
Various municipal services providers including city government, town administration and other agencies disposed of 4320 tonnes garbage to landfill sites on the first day of ongoing campaign while they delivered 5347 tonnes garbage on second day, 5238 tonnes garbage on third day, 4669 tonnes garbage on fourth day, 5951 tonnes garbage on fifth day, 6054 tonnes garbage on sixth day and 6431 tonnes garbage on the seventh day to the landfill sites.
