Continued military siege has added to IOK people’s miseries

Islamabad, January 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): APHC-AJK chapter leader and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement, Imtiaz Wani, has said that the people of occupied Kashmir have been facing severe difficulties due to continued military siege. Imtiaz Wani in a statement issued in Islamabad deplored that the Indian troops had created an atmosphere of fear in the territory and were committing massive human rights violations. He said that the people of the territory had been facing acute shortage of food and medicines due to the blockade

He said that the United Nations Human Rights Council had time and again sought permission from the Indian government to allow a visit to occupied Kashmir but was denied. He said now India had organized a visit of hand-picked envoys to hoodwink the world community.

Imtiaz Wani said that New Delhi wanted to suppress the voice of Kashmiri people through brutal tactics but would never succeed in its nefarious designs. He appeals to the United Nations and world human rights organizations to take notice of the Indian atrocities on the Kashmiri people and play role in the settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
